@leavesz did a new year post so i will too :)

wow, it's 2023! truth be told, last night i didn't do a whole lot (except slam my desk in synchronization with the clocks hitting 00:00 lol). but that's not to say i'm not excited for the new year!

how am i? well, definitely in a way better position than i was last year, that's for sure. i really hope it stays that way, but i'm sure it will. i'll be starting my spring semester of university next week, and that'll be fun! probably easier than my fall semester now that i've had college experience

as for my music? this i really want to improve on. i didn't release anything on my bandcamp, and i only released three songs here this year; i promise i'll do better this year. as part of my new year's resolution, i'm definitely planning on releasing an ep or two and some singles this year, maybe more. i have quite a few ideas in my mind right now, and i just need the time and practice to realize them. however, one problem i had with my music last year was that i really tended to overcomplicate my songwriting process. now that i'm aware of it i want to try to drastically simplify my arrangements and write fewer, better parts. jamuary is here, and for that i'd like to try to put these principles into practice. after all, you have to walk before you can run :)

that's not to say i didn't write any music beyond what i've released last year :) i just haven't fully polished them yet. i actually have like ~five hours worth of unfinished material on my phone from last year. idk what ng's policy is on wips/ids but if you really want them up then let me know
